Hey Kids
Our series for this month is is called Into the Fire. It is part six of The Storyline of the Redeeming love of Jesus . In this series we are exploring the Adventures of the Israelites through the book of Exodus. We begin with the story of Joseph and we will end at the wall of Jericho hundreds of years later. From Joseph to Joshua we will discover the good the bad and the ugly and find out that God’s plans for his family are good, and that no matter what evil has planned for us, Jesus has plans to turn it into good. By Choosing to live love and serve like Jesus we can be a part of his great plans.
THIS WEEK we see how God’s plans play out for the Israelites. Following instructions is a skill that we need to get good at, especially when those instructions come from God. God’s plans, his instructions will always set us free and lead us home with him.

A BALLOON POWERED LEGO CAR
See if you can design a lego car that is fast, safe and sturdy. You can use as many lego’s as you want. Make it BIG or make it small! Make it loooong or make it short!
(Remember to make sure your design is able to hold the balloon which is going to be the power to your car)
A very important part of this car is the balloon. Without it your car would not be able to go! This is just like having Jesus in our life. He is like our balloon… He makes us mooooove! Without Him we would be hopeless!
Red Sea EXPERIMENT
You Will Need:
-Your Moses
-Shallow Dish
-Black Pepper
-Small bowl with a small amount of dish soap
Step 1:
Add a thin layer of pepper to your bowl of water.
Step 2:
Next dip the end of your Moses into the bowl filled with dish soap.
Step 3:
Then dip Moses (with the soap) into the dish with the black pepper. Magic happens!
Step 4:
The black pepper immediately radiates out to the sides of the bowl. Sort of like the parting of the Red Sea. The effect is so quick that it really is exciting to watch.
What do we need cleared away so we can see clearly and make our way forward, just like the Israelites did?

When we pray or talk to God we know He listens to us. We can tell him anything!
So when we choose to make Him the King of our hearts it changes the way we talk, do and think about things.

Pair up with a friend and sit back to back. Take turns describing a picture while the other person draws it. Remember you have to describe the picture…you can not say what it is.
When you are done, compare the two pictures… Did they match up?
Were you able to listen to the instructions? Were you able to think of the best possible way to give instructions? How can we be better listeners
