Hey Kids

We have finally arrived at the place in the storyline that all the other stories have been building up to. Actually its not a place, its a person, God, born as a baby named Jesus.

In this series we are exploring how Jesus is One of a Kind, the only one who can lead us home forever with him.

THIS WEEK This week we meet John the Baptist, a weird way out guy who told everyone to get ready for Jesus.  John tells us that Jesus is the Lamb of God and that he, Jesus, can save the world.

BAPTISM BOOK MARK

Put your hand up if you like skittles! Did you know the colours of skittles remind us of what baptism means to us?

Use colored cardboard or paper to create a bookmark to keep in your Bible.  While making it, enjoy some skittles.

Put your hand up if you choose Jesus! Be reminded that choosing Jesus and having Him in your life is the best because He makes  life so much sweeter!

BUILDING JUST LIKE JESUS

Before Jesus was baptised he was a builder. He used his hands to make things that helped people. We can do the same thing. When Jesus lives in our heart we can choose to be kind and good just like him. We can build our selves our families and friends in love.

This week we are making this craft. Jesus knows our names and he will help us build in love just like him.

Write your name on the saw. Click here for the PDF of your tools.

Coffee filter art (because we are God’s work of art!)

  1. Using washable markers, make dots, lines or any patterns on a coffee filter.

  2. Use a water dropper or spray bottle to wet the filter (be careful not to soak the paper)

  3. Watch as the water spreads, taking some of the ink with it and create a masterpiece.

Choosing Jesus brings new life! He welcomes us into His family, just as we are, washes us clean and makes us new.

LIQUID MUSIC

If you’ve ever played a water xylophone you would know each jar has it’s own unique sounds and that you will be able to play a chord or a song with it.

Try playing the notes to Joy to the World

When we are filled with Jesus we sound different.  Through us, Jesus’ love can spread to everyone around us through the things we do and say, and the way we act.

To Jesus be all the glory through all the good we do, say and think!

We would love to see you playing, trying, making and sharing! Please share your photos with your KellyvilleKids community in our WhatsApp Group. If you’re new to our KellyvilleKids community and would like to stay connected, contact us.
