December 11

Hey Kids

There are so many symbols around us.

They are a signs of something to come, like flashing lights at a railway crossing, something we are feeling like a happy emoji , and something we should do or look out for like the kangaroo signs beside the road.

At Christmas time we put symbols in the form of decorations all over the pace, to show that we are celebrating the gift of Jesus. These symbols show that we choose Jesus, we choose Joy and peace, we choose life and love.

What are your favourite Christmas symbols? Take a photo of yourself with them and share them with us.

Bible Texts — Luke 2:1-20

Words to Remember

“Today in the town of David a saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. ….. The shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” Luke 2:11 &15. NIV

TREEHOUSE KIDS

To make anything, something has to move and change and work together to create what it is you want to make. When God made the world His plan was to create a world full of love and life. He is still working that plan out and wants to know if you are keen to be a part of it.

What ever you are making, think about how God wants to make something wonderful in you and with you to bless the world.

Making Macramé

Ever wondered how they make those comfy hammocks or amazing plant hangers or even clothes out of knots? Check out this video and find out how to make the knots then create your own macramé work of art.

Don’t give up when you get a bit tangled up. When we work through our mess we learn so much more!

The Christmas star can be seen on top of your tree in decorations on the tree, on the house or even on your T-shirt.

The reason why this symbol is so important is that the Christmas Star had never been seen before and it was sent to lead those people who were watching for it to Baby Jesus.

You can shine the light of love peace and joy that Jesus has given you and just like the Christmas star you can lead people to Him.

Let love peace and Joy fill you up and stretch you out, just like this experiment.

PLAY RELAY GAMES

  • You will need at least 4 players

  • Something to carry, baton, ball or even a stick

  • Choose to run in a circle or in a line back and forth.

  • When the relay begins the first runner carries the object until they safely pass it to the next player.

  • This continues until the object has been passed to all the relay racers.

  • Imagine that what you are carrying is Jesus love, a special gift from Him to you. A gift designed to be passed on so that everyone has a turn at accepting and sharing this wonderful gift.
