Hey Kids

Our series for this month is is called Power in Sacrifice.

Following the story of the people who believed God's word we find ourselves exploring the life of Abraham. We see how he trusted, he moved and he gave, over and over again believing in God’s promises to be true, even when he would not get to see them happen.

THIS WEEK

It’s easy to do things we want to.

When we believe in God’s love for us more than anything else, often we have to do things we don’t want to, like be kind to people who are terribly mean to us.

This week we see how Abraham followed God’s instructions even when they were the worst thing he could imagine. This was very hard to do.

Bible Texts —Genesis 22:1-19 Hebrews 11:8-12, 17-19

Words to Remember

Abraham believed that God could raise the dead. And really, it was as if Abraham got Isaac back from death. Hebrews 11:19  ICB

Having FAITH means believing without seeing.

In 2 Corinthians 5:7 (CEB) we read “We live by faith and not by sight”

Draw a self portrait…but do it blindfolded!

The Ping Pong Challenge and see how having Faith in God makes anything possible!

Check out this object lesson and see if you can do the experiment at home. What do you think this experiment will teach us about trusting God?

Do you have enough faith to choose good?

When we are in a situation where we get angry, sad, unsure, upset or scared it’s not always easy to do or say  the right thing.  Having faith means trusting God’s goodness even if we don’t know the outcome of a situation, just like Abraham!  We need to choose good and have faith that He will make a way.

How to Play

See how many “good” balloons you can find. Pick up as many as you can before time runs out!  When things go a bit topsy-turvy and we don’t know what to do, choose to do/ say good.

Blow up as many balloons as you can and write the word good on some of them.

Set a time limit for the kids to search for and pick up the good.

Blindfolded Obstacle Course.

Going into the unknown can be a scary thing. Rely on  your friend to guide you through an obstacle course. Trust that they will lead you through.

Abraham believed God and followed where he led him to places & people unknown.

Simon Says.

How good are you at listening and doing? Play this game to train your listening and doing skills.

Looking for Jesus, loving who he is and what he has done for us helps us listen to Gods voice and do what he says.

We would love to see you playing, trying, making and sharing! Please share your photos with your KellyvilleKids community in our WhatsApp Group. If you’re new to our KellyvilleKids community and would like to stay connected, contact us.
