Hey Kids

Our series for this month is is called Power in Sacrifice.

Following the story of the people who believed God's word we find ourselves exploring the life of Abraham. We see how he trusted, he moved and he gave, over and over again believing in God’s promises to be true, even when he would not get to see them happen.

THIS WEEK

Have you ever been worried about your future? This week we see how God makes an agreement with Abram, telling him what was to come for him and his family. We see how God gives Abram a daily reminder that he will keep his promise by changing both Abrams & Sarai’s names.

God’s promise to Abram

Genesis 15:5-6 “Then he brought Abram outside and said: “Look up at the sky and count the stars if you think you can count them.”  He continued, “This is how many children you will have”. Abram trusted the LORD, and the LORD recognized Abram’s high moral character. (CEB)

Look at the picture of the Milky Way. There are thousands of stars… Try and create your own night sky picture and see how many stars you can add. Whenever you look at the stars or at your picture, you can be reminded of the promise God made to Abram. The promise was so big it stretched over the entire universe!

INVISIBLE PAINTING FOR KIDS

Abram believed what the Lord promised him.  When we believe and we have faith it means we trust the Lord even if we can not see what He does or how He does it.

Use white pastels to create a hidden promise… then use water paint to let the promise come true!

Blindfolded Obstacle Course.

Going into the unknown can be a scary thing. Rely on  your friend to guide you through an obstacle course. Trust that they will lead you through.

Abraham believed God and followed where he led him to places & people unknown.
