MAY 30
HEY KIDS!
This week is all about - choosing to do what we have been told even though we are comfortable exactly where we are. Why would we do that?
Our Trailblazer this week is Abram & Samuel
KEY BIBLE TEXT | Genesis 12:1-8
What’s Happening - God has spoken to both of these Trailblazers and both messages require action. It’s easy to say ”yes I’ve heard you,” but not so easy to do what is being asked of us. Let’s find out what happened and how we can choose to listen and then do what we have been asked.
Words to Remember - Treehouse
“God saved us and made us his holy people... not because of anything we did but because of His grace.... That was given to us through Jesus before time began.” (2 Timothy 1:9 ICB)
Words To Remember - PlayHouse
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27

Have you ever had to move, house, town, or even country? How was that for you?
Can you name the city where Abram started the journey? Genesis 11:31
Who went with Abraham? Genesis 12:4
What did Abraham do when God spoke to him? Vs 4
How do we know when God is speaking to us?
What do we do when someone is speaking to us?
If we want to hear, we lean in and listen. God knows when we want to listen to him.
How do we listen for His voice?
How do we listen to our friends and our family?
We lean in to what they are saying. We ask them to repeat what they are saying or explain if we don’t understand.
We can ask God to do the same thing for us. Can He tell us again or explain so we understand. He may talk to us in a song, or from someone who loves Jesus, or a word spoken to our heart, or a story. God knows the way you listen and He will speak in your language.
God is speaking all the time, in the world around us, through His holy spirit, that lives in the people who love Him, through the stories old and new, that show He is here for us.
Are we listening?
Take time to listen, practise on your family and friends and then open your heart and listen for God.
He is speaking to you. His heart is full of love for you.
The BIble Says
Jesus tells us “the Counselor the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of all that I have said to you”. John 14:26
Jesus also says “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27
Paul, a follower of Jesus, whose whole life changed, when he met Jesus tells us “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans” 10:17
Can you put these verses in your own words?
What will we do when God calls us?
Our Trailblazers have shown us the way and what to do.
Blaze a trail Brave One and let God lead you.
Trailblazers praise Jesus in good times and in bad. Get your dance moves together and thank Jesus in a praise party.
I Wanna Be A Sheep
Be Bold, Be Strong
I've Got The Joy Joy Joy
I know that sound!
Play this with your family and or friends.
You will need Pen a paper
A pillow case or bag to put your things in
A collection of objects that make sound, like a whistle or a ball when it bounces or when you run your finger across the teeth of a comb.
Each person goes in search of 5 things that make noise. Put them in your pillow case or bag so the rest of the players can't see what you have.
How to play:
Players take turns making the noise.
If you are making the noise everyone else who is listening must turn their back to you so they cannot see what you are using to make noise.
While you make the noise the players write down what they think the noise maker is.
When each player has finished sharing their collection of noise makers, take turns guessing what each sound was.
Did you have to repeat the same sound a couple of times so people could hear it.
Sometimes we ask ourselves “Did we really hear that?” We listen really hard to see if we can hear it again. If someone has said something and we missed it we ask them to say it again so we can hear.
I wonder if Abram asked God to say that again, just so he was clear on what God said. We don’t know because the storyteller doesn't tell us. What we do know is that Abram believed what God said because he did what God asked him to. What Abram heard in his head, he felt in his heart, and it moved his whole household.
Check out this How To Make Sound Effects Video.
How amazing would it have been to be there when the first sounds were made. I wonder what it was? Any ideas?
Simon Says
One person is designated Simon, the others are the players. Standing in front of the group, Simon tells players what they must do. However, the players must only obey commands that begin with the words “Simon Says.”
If Simon says, “Simon says touch your nose,” then players must touch their nose. But, if Simon simply says, “jump,” without first saying “Simon says,” players must not jump. Those that do jump are out.
Follow directions and stay in the game for as long as possible! The last player standing wins and becomes the next Simon. If you’re Simon, the object is to try to dupe the players to follow your commands when they shouldn’t.
The bible tells us that Jesus calls the children to him. I can imagine the kids playing and Jesus playing with them. I wonder if Jesus played simon says, a hebrew version? What do you think Jesus was like to play with?

Treehouse
When Abram left his homeland he did not have google maps to show him where to go. He did not even have a compass. God showed him the way.
Make this compass and see how easy it is to find North at your home.
You may have found that this paper compass doesn’t work. However a real one may be on your parents phone. Or you can Make a Homemade Compass
How did Abram know where to go?
God is the real thing, not pretend like the paper compass . God always leads us home to him. Just like a compass always point north.
Check out these pages to colour in.
Playhouse Kids can you Make this Mask. Can you find the lambs ears, eye, nose and mouth? Have you ever touched a lamb? What sound do you think they make? Show someone your mask and tell them all about it, how it can see and hear and smell and taste. You can do all those things too.

Imagine how Abram felt when God told him that he would have as many children as stars in the sky. That is one big family!
Ask for permission from your parent/guardian to add this stargazing app Sky Guide to your device. You can view the stars night or day. Open the app and see what is above you. Imagine what it would be like to see forever. Know that Jesus can. How awesome is that!
