HEY KIDS!
This week is all about - How God is generous to me. He shares, He gives, He forgives.
Love Lego Life - 2 If you have the faith of a mustard seed … nothing will be impossible for you.
Key Text - Luke 15:11- 32 - The Prodigal Son. 2 kings 12 - Joash Repairs the Temple.
What’s Happening -
The Bible is full of stories that show us how generous God is. Jesus told parables to show what it is like to be generous or not. This week we are exploring the Parable of the Prodigal Son and the Story of Joash repairing the Temple. Both of these stories show us how to be generous. Can you think of ways you can be generous?
Words to Remember - Treehouse
Do not be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, then forgive him. Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you.
Colossians 3:13 ICB

Have you heard the story of the Prodigal Son?
What does prodigal even mean?
Can you guess?
Prodigal is, spending money or using resources freely and recklessly; wastefully extravagant.
Read the story of the Prodigal Son found in Luke 15:11-32 or watch The Prodigal Son
What does the younger son say to his father at the very beginning of this story? ( vs12 )
Did you notice that the Son said “Give me my share” He didn’t ask if he could have it, he didn't even say please or thank you. What does that tell you about the son?
Can you imagine doing this in your family?
After the Son had spent everything, what happened next?( vs 14 )
What did the Son realise? (vs 17)
If you were the father how would you have felt about the Son coming home? What would you have done?
How did the older brother feel? (vs 28)
We have one brother who did everything his father told him to and another brother who did only what he wanted to.
Jesus is telling this story not just so we would see the difference between the two sons, he is telling this story so we will see how generous the Father is.
The father in this story shows us how God feels about us.
Can you think of how we have been reckless with resources or wasteful?
What do we need to do?
Even though the son wasted all that was given to him, the Father was overjoyed to have him home again.
This is what generous love looks like.
This is who God is, and this is how he feels about us.
Words To Remember - PlayHouse
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.” John 3:16 ICB

Jesus tells the parable of the mustard seed in Matthew Mark and Luke. It is the shortest parable where Jesus says the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed. This parable shows us how something as small as a mustard seed can grow into a huge tree.
God is so generous with us, He takes whatever we give Him and makes something good out of it.
Make something good out of seeds, pasta, glue and card. Make a pattern or a picture on the page.
Playhouse Kids can Make This Temple. Imagine what it would be like to make this same temple big enough to fit your whole family in. Repairing the temple was a big Job for King Joash and the Israelites. Everyone needed to help out in many different ways to get it done. How can you help finish something? When you help someone with all of your heart that is called being generous.
Play a game of Tag, but before you do, choose a place that is home. Home is where you can rest and not be tagged. To play Tag, one person is chosen to be the tagger. That person then tries to tag/touch another and then that person is in. See how long you can play this game. Always know that home is your safe place where you can rest free from being tagged.
Simon Says
One person is designated Simon, the others are the players. Standing in front of the group, Simon tells players what they must do. However, the players must only obey commands that begin with the words “Simon Says.”
If Simon says, “Simon says touch your nose,” then players must touch their nose. But, if Simon simply says, “jump,” without first saying “Simon says,” players must not jump. Those that do jump are out.
Follow directions and stay in the game for as long as possible! The last player standing wins and becomes the next Simon. If you’re Simon, the object is to try to dupe the players to follow your commands when they shouldn’t.
The bible tells us that Jesus calls the children to him.Can you imagine the kids playing and Jesus playing with them. I wonder if Jesus played simon says, a hebrew version? What do you think Jesus was like to play with?

Try growing in generosity.
Are you great at fixing broken things, baking, playing a musical instrument or keeping little kids entertained? Talents are blessings that can bless others. We can choose to be generous with our talent anytime or all the time!
God has generously gifted you with the ability to listen, to help, to share, to make and play.
Explore all the good things that you love to do and thank God for them.
Playhouse Kids - Can you make a tower out of blocks. Unless you have one very big block you will need to search for as many blocks as you can find and put them together. You may need to ask for some help. My favourite thing to build with is lego. Gods favourite thing to build with is people, who love him and each other.
Your family and friends are awesome. They are made in love.
We would love to see you playing, trying, making and sharing! Please share your photos with your KellyvilleKids community in our WhatsApp Group. If you’re new to our KellyvilleKids community and would like to stay connected, contact us.
