Hey Kids

Our series for this month is is called Into the Fire. It is part six of The Storyline of the Redeeming love of Jesus . In this series we are exploring the Adventures of the Israelites through the book of Exodus. We begin with the story of Joseph and we will end at the wall of Jericho hundreds of years later. From Joseph to Joshua we will discover the good the bad and the ugly and find out that God’s plans for his family are good, and that no matter what evil has planned for us, Jesus has plans to turn it into good. By Choosing to live love and serve like Jesus we can be a part of his great plans.

THIS WEEK we are reading about how the Israelites are getting ready to claim the promised land. What a journey! How are we when we are at the end of something, like a school year or a summer camp or maybe a great party. What are we like when it’s over, and then we have to prepare for something new?

Bible Texts —Joshua 1:1-18.

Words to Remember

Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. No one will be able to stop you all your life. I will not leave you. I will never leave you alone. Joshua 1:5 ICB

God promises He will never leave us and always be with us.  He was with the Israelites the whole time while they journeyed to the promised land.  They faced many challenges and there were a lot of times things didn’t go the way they wanted.

When we choose God we can be sure He will be with us, no matter what challenges we face.

Use paddle pop sticks to create a frame of a house.  Place a photo of your family in the frame or draw a picture of your family on it.  Lastly, add the following scripture to your house:

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” - Joshua 24:15

DRAW ON MY BACK CHALLENGE

Gather two or more people for this activity to test how well you lead and follow!

  • Sitting behind your friend place your paper on their back.

  • Using a crayon draw a shape.

  • Wait for your friend to draw the shape on their own piece of paper that they have in front of them.

  • See how many shapes you can get the same.

Hula Hoop Pass!

Gather your friends and family to play this game.

God instructed Joshua to lead the Israelites.  Joshua listened to God's instructions and put his faith in Him and the Israelites could see this.

When we have faith in God and His plan for our lives we obey Him and do what He asks from us because we know His plans always work out!  When we choose to put all our trust in Him it changes the way we deal with challenges.  God can make a way where no-one else can.

Hold hand and let the hula hoop travel from one end of the line to the other - This activity reminds us how God keeps His promise and is with us all the way

We would love to see you playing, trying, making and sharing! Please share your photos with your KellyvilleKids community in our WhatsApp Group. If you’re new to our KellyvilleKids community and would like to stay connected, contact us.
