Hey Kids
Our series for this month is is called Power inSacrifice.
Following the story of the people who believed God's word we find ourselves exploring the life of Abraham. We see how he trusted, he moved and he gave, over and over again believing in God’s promises to be true, even when he would not get to see them happen.
THIS WEEK
we explore how Abraham moved to rescue his nephew and his family. How he gave when he could have kept everything for himself. He trusted that God is all he would ever need. We also meet Melchizedek who points us to Jesus and reminds us of how Jesus is always with us.

A Tithing jar
We know God created everything and everything on Earth belongs to Him. He would like us to WANT to give to Him and trust that He will take care of us. So often I ask Jesus to help me WANT to give when I don’t feel like it. When I give because I know Jesus wants me to my heart fills up with all the good things like joy and peace. Just like the container we are going to make, we are filled up and overflowing and used to do good things.
Decorate your empty can/container and try to save a tenth of the pocket money you earn. You can give this to your church or any other organisation who does good work for God! Remember..In 2 Corinthians 9:7 we read God loves a cheerful giver!
Sometimes we get into trouble and need help getting out. God makes sure we have people around us who love us and care for us. Sometimes they help us get out of tricky situations but sometimes we are the ones helping others.
Abram did not hesitate to help Lot when he was stuck in a tricky situation.
For this activity you will need to prepare our frozen treasures the night before.
Collect some small plastic animals or lego mini-figs, enough for each child.
Place each one in a small cup or IceCube tray.
Add water and place in a freezer overnight.
Give each child a plate with their frozen figures and ask them how they can free them.
How long will it take to melt the ice and set free what is inside. What is the quickest way to get it out?
